not that it’s related, but i think it’s interesting how the shirt looks purple in the one picture. they were trying to make her pinker or something. also, punk shirt at the comic book convention (and conversely, nerd shirts at the punk shows) are my favorite things.
I think it’s interesting too, particularly in the context of Kristen Stewart’s ‘unconventionalism’. Her skin color and body type are entirely normative, but she challenges the egregious, compulsory, tanned, smiling “Blonde Hollywood bimbo” stereotype, and some people apparently don’t like it. I feel like she proves that straight cis-females aren’t allowed even the tiny amount of female masculinity that she exhibits. That they were trying to make her ‘pinker’ doesn’t seem coincidental within that context.
I feel like I see a lot of examples of panicked super-feminizing of pop stars and popular actresses? I find myself not pointing them out because no one else seems to see it and it makes me feel paranoid.
